Chemical Peels
Chemical Peels involve the application of a solution which causes the skin to “peel off”. A specially formulated solution causes the skin to shed dead, dying, and damaged cells.
Chemical peels can be performed on the face, neck, and hands. As healing occurs, the new regenerated skin looks fresher, tighter, and smoother.
Chemical peels are used for smoothing out lines, repairing sun damage, treating acne scarring, reducing age spots, and improving skin texture and color. It is not recommended as the sole treatment for deep lines or heavy wrinkles.
There are several different types of peel solutions with varying strengths, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. The process is quite safe when administered by a professional staff. However, use of an improper mixture or not removing at the right time can lead to unwanted results, or even damage, so it is recommended that chemical peels in a non-medical setting be avoided.
Peels can also be used in conjunction with and/or as follow-up maintenance to laser treatment. Dr. Rose’s staff can help you select a treatment plan best suited for you during a free consultation.
